Good Manga and Manhwa Reccomendation While They Still Aren’t Adapted to Anime
Looking back when several anime title become a hit today, one need to remember the humble beginning from the previously unknown mangaka that was once trying to break through the mainstream industry. Even big household name like Eichiro Oda of One Piece or Kohei Horikoshi of My Hero Academia were once an assistant of another mangaka. Before finding their big break, they had to try several times with different mangas which ended up hammered out from the megazine.
You might want to check several great mangas and manhwas which potentially will get their anime adaptation in the future.
Mashle: Magic and Muscle
On top of the list is this bizarre manga telling a story of a world where everybody is magic user except the Main character. In order to maintain his peaceful life he needs to become someone important and powerful enough to change the discrimination toward a non magic people. With only the help of his stoicism attitude and his beloved muscle, can this magicless boy survive the school of magic?
If you happen to like Gintama and Harry Potter this will be up in your alley. The art wasn’t really the best compare to other Shounen Manga out there like My Hero Academia or One Punch man (Murata’s version) but once you get used to it, it was worth the read. You are going to see some lightning bolt shape and a lot of Harry Potter’s reference but remember this is no Hogwarts.
Solo Leveling
There are not many cases where manhwa get adapted to anime. However, there are still hope my friends seeing Crunchyroll picking up the already famous manhwa like Noblesse, Tower of God, and the The God of High School, then Solo Leveling should be the next on the list.
I myself wasn’t really a fans of RPG-like type of manhwa or manga. Since the booming of Sword Art Online, i think this genre has gone downhill (except for Konosuba). Solo leveling however provide you with many cool characters, fighting, monsters, dungeons, and all the things you would except to happen to you when your are playing RPG Game. The MC development is very straightforward which means he is getting stronger and stronger every chapter without having a sign to stop.
The original material however is from Light novel and it is already complete. Another reason to tune it especially if you can’t wait for new chapter every week or for some cases 3 years (Still crying over Hunter x hunter’s hiatus).
8Kaijuu
Kaijuu is japanese word means “Strange Beast”. Kaijuu as a genre is dominated by the very famous Godzilla and Ultraman Series but other series such as King kong, Pasific Rim, and Attack on The Titan can also be included. 8Kaijuu tells a story where Strange Big Monster are frequently appearing in Japan and other part of the world (i guess) so special elite forces of fighting Kaijuu is created (So Typical).
The MC and The heroine is childhood friend whose hometown were destroyed by Kaijuu. Promising on revenge they both are determined to beat the crap out of the Kaijuu by entering the forces. Fast forward years later, the heroine ended up becoming the captain of the forces and the MC ended up up becoming Kaijuu. How will their love intermingling in the middle of this chaotic world? (Warning: Childhood love always win in manga, ALWAYS).
Soloist in the Cage
Soloist in the cage give me a Promised Neverland vibe if it is happening in Rusia at the 90s and played by Katniss Everdeen. What if a prison is already as big as a city and everybody is housed? You cannot escape tho but will it still feel like a home or will it feel like a prison.
Our young protagonist Katnis, sorry Chloe manage to escape one day but fail to bring her little brother. Hoping to find her brothers and escape together, she embarks a journey once again inside the prison.
Soloist in the cage remind me of Naoki Urasawa’s (famous for 20th Century Boys and Monster) dark art style and narrative. Rather than drawn It feels more like it was sketched by using a pen. The plot gets pretty dark immediately i mean what do you expect from a manga about a pair of orphan living in the city full of criminal.
Eleceed
What if high school boy meets god of thunder? No it’s not Thor. Eleceed is a manhwa where people with supernatural power living in secreat inside a society but seems like not so secreat when destroying a fucking building. Enter Rayden, sorry kaiden, the strongest superhuman who is able to manipulate lightning (still sounds like Rayden tho) who meet a highscool boy and later train him to control his power.
Expect to see a lot of cat i means a lot.
